Well I have to say I took so much time finishing this book. And I'm glad I did. Cause everytime I opened this book the storyline would match my current situation that I was facing in my life. Call it coincident or a comforting magic. The advice of marmee and their father, the struggles and solution helped me go on and face it. But there are some parts where I kind of disagreed and still find debatable when it comes to the ideas of the author about women. But I think that was the mentality about women and all in all the whole society at that time. Yeah some mixed feelings about that. But I will cherish this book very much. It gave me many ideas, advice and inspiration at the end of the day.

I was gifted this book 21 years ago by my grandma. As a child I was busy and up until now at the age of 32, I had never been able to make it past page 70. I'm so sorry I never did, until now. There is so much womanly wisdom and heartfelt writing in the story, that I don't think I will wait 21 years to re-read it. I've seen the movie at least a hundred times and loved it, but the book is far far better. Perhaps, I was too self-absorbed to have appreciated it until age 32. Having been through so much of their own experiences now, I couldn't help but love every minute of it. Every girl and woman ought to read this book. They will love the beauty of life experienced through these wonderful women.

I didn’t realize until I got to the end that this was not the entire story, but it was definitely a happy one. Now I can finally watch the movie!

The story is interesting, has some unforeseen plot turns, and depicts a now-uncommon setting of 150 years ago. The writing is full of morals and lessons though, which was a turnoff for me. Many story arcs go on for too long, making the read slower and more boring than necessary.

This was such an emotional rollercaster ride!
I often found myself smiling over those naive and good-hearted 'little women', how they dealt with their small and big struggles and always learned valuable lessons about life and the importance of a decent character , but also had to shed a few tears at certain times.
Yet, a warmth wrapped my heart throughout the whole story (yes.. I know how cheesy this sounds x"D) and I'm sure, though we're living in another century now, I've also learned my shed of lessons.
And isn't this one of the major reasons we read books?
