Was it the best mafia book I've ever come across? Not by a long shot, but it did keep me entertained.
I was genuinely taken aback by the level of brutality. I had anticipated more character development and fewer gritty crime details. There were moments when I felt pretty uncomfortable because I hadn't expected it to be this raw, especially given that I was supposed to be rooting for the protagonists.
On the other hand, I'm scratching my head over how the protagonists fell head over heels in love when they barely had conversations. Sure, I get the attraction part, but love? Not buying it.
I'm seriously questioning if dark romance is my cup of tea. Lately, I've noticed more and more books where stalking, violence, and mistreatment are portrayed as normal. I mean, I get it's the mafia, but treating the person you supposedly "love" like that, no matter how they try to justify it, just feels very wrong to me.

This book was so very good. The Vitale brothers are super crazy. Enzo is so unhinged and I loved it. Lol. The way Enzo and Tex were together had me binge read this. I'm already sad their story is over.
