This is a sweet, cozy slow burn romance. Victor (Grim) is an introverted, quiet, thoughtful immortal who chooses to marry a high fae woman who has been suffering from a genetic disease that has her close to dying. If you like a magical, powerful male who cares about consent and takes care of his wife no matter what, then you should enjoy this.
I have been looking forward to Grim's book ever since I read about him in Leviathan's Song, and I enjoyed finally getting to see him fall in love. Celeste is such a sweetheart, and I loved the way the attraction between the two of them grew and they got to know each other.
I do think it's helpful to have read the other books in the series because the second half of the book has several characters that are from those books, and you may feel a little lost if you don't know who they are.

Celeste's childhood friend only wanted to be in a romantic relationship with her. He's not a good guy.
