Overall an enjoyable read. I felt that the supernatural elements were under-baked. Some of the stylistic choices made to make Ray's manuscript seem more amateurish just ended up making the writing clunkier (having read other books by Egan, I feel confident saying this was an intentional, but unfortunate, choice). Although I found the climax unsatisfying, I did enjoy the final chapter much more than I expected to.
Moderate: Drug abuse

Once you get used to the dreaminess, it's not half bad. Not entirely horror, there's no supernatural or paranormal. Definitely kinda creepy. The location was interestng and I liked the plot twists. The finale was very sudden but in context I can understand why.
I liked the variety of characters and rotating view points. I think it was pretty well written. I don't know how accurate the prisons parts were but you know, it's fiction.
