What a dark novella. I’m glad the rest of the series isn’t that dark. I’m going to have go back and read the other novellas now.

This novella added a bit of character and world building to the universe, but I imagine you could skip it just fine in terms of reading through the series.

I think I might’ve enjoyed this more had I listened to it before reading Cibola Burn. I did like that we got more of life on Mars and a look into the schooling system in place there. I also enjoyed learning more about Bobby’s family and what she did during her time not working.

I really liked the ending of this so so much. But I wish there was more of Bobby being a badass in the rest of it.

I liked Bobbie Draper in Caliban's War, but this didn't really add anything to her character or the overall plot of the entire series. I enjoyed the glimpse of her family on Mars, but this could have been added to the next book in which she's featured. This is the second novella I've read in the series and think I'll skip the upcoming ones as they're just disappointing- especially when the full books in the series are fantastic.
