This is the reading equivalent of one of those slow tv programmes. Quite relaxing, and some nice glimpses of a life- it’s also a bit like the outrun but without the alcoholism.

Took me over 2 years to finish because I really took my time with this one, but it was well worth it. I love a memoir, and I loved sitting with this read for so long. Beautiful passages about nature, and loved her journey of coming out alongside and tangled up in her journeys with both gardening and boating- the losing, and the gaining, and everything else that came with all of these things.

I enjoyed this book when I was reading it but had little motivation to pick it back up when I wasn't. I hope she succeeded on her canal paddling goal though!
