Can’t say I enjoyed it as much as the 24 hour bookstore book. I loved that one so much and this just didn’t live up to it. Still was a fun ride though!

Saw this book being on display at one boutique bookshop that I frequent and thought the title sounded interesting. But alas, I was very disappointed because there really isn't much to it.. Yes, it was just intended to be an introduction of a certain Mr. Penumbra, which is to be the main character in the sequel but wish the author had thrown in more plot to it. The lack of which made the book feel very, very flat to me.

I thought this was kind of a cute book. It's not very long so it goes pretty quickly once you actually start reading it. I definitely liked Mr. Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore much better but this was a nice little companion book to go with it.

This was fun. Not as good as the the 24-hour bookstore, but a fun prequel for the characters. I wish I had read it closer to the first book so that I could enjoy more of the references but it was still good overall.

It was fun to read the background story to [bc:Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore|13538873|Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore|Robin Sloan|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1345089845s/13538873.jpg|6736543]
I enjoyed that book a great deal because of the adventures taking place in bookstores (the best place in the world) and the writing was very easy and light.

This book was the story of Penumbra, and since he was such a mysterious character in the other book it was fun to get to know him a bit more. His story although fun, was not as interesting as the other book, but it was at least something.
I did enjoy reading some more of Robin Sloan though, because he writes in a very pleasing manner with funny stuff. So to sum it up, a good fun book if you´ve read the first book.

A good story, about how Mr. Penumbra first encountered the 24-hour book shop. Not even long enough to be a novella, really. But I liked it! I do wish it were another full length novel, though!
