Oh I hadn't read the previous version this book so this was all new to me.

Gael and Jordan are a 'match made in heaven' but a mis communication of sorts and secrets has kept them apart.

A bachelor party in Vegas brings all the tension to the surface and secrets are revealed / conversations had.

This is a heart warming best friends to lovers read.

Well this would have been a 2 star or DNF... and I was just about to give up with this book..
Somehow it was all too straightforward (no pun intended) and the stepbrothers trope - forced proximity on a trip to Vegas was interesting but didn't really capture my attention much

UNTIL the plot twist in Vegas, when it turned from a 2 star to a 4 star. I was relieved that Marley Valentine had a great idea for the story after all.

I didn't really like the amongst of angst, perhaps I wanted more bi-awakening in the story as that part was a bit skimmed over it felt like. Like a guy gets completely comfortable with a MM relationship so quick. But now I am keen to read the rest of the series.

Marley Valentine does it again with Ache! This book will pull you in with the beauty of the characters and their friendship and then make you swoon, only to rip your heart out… but don’t worry, you’ll get stitched back together. This was a roller coaster of all the emotions!

Jordan and Gael have been best friends since childhood. And for so much of that time, Jordan has been secretly and hopelessly in love with Gael. He has always handled his unrequited love for the man because they had an unbreakable bond in their friendship. Nothing comes between them… until Gael announces his engagement… Jordan knows that this woman will never be comfortable sharing Gael with his best friend once they are married and it breaks his heart.

As a way to spend some final fun with Gael, he plans an elaborate Vegas bachelor party trip… and everything changes. The two share an absolutely non-platonic evening which implodes everything. Giddy with the knowledge that what he has always wanted may actually be possible with Gael, Jordan never expects for it all to come crashing down around them…

This was a beautiful and completely heartbreaking romance that I completely LOVED! Jordan and Gael were such fantastic men who loved so hard and had the biggest hearts. I loved the entire family aspect in this book. I love that while Jordan isn’t blood, he is undoubtedly a member of the family. And finally, I loved all the breathtaking emotion in this book. This book will make you FEEL!

I’m not a fan of the cheating trope - as someone who got cheated ont here’s nothing could make me like characters who cheated

Enjoyed it

I enjoyed this book a lot but I probably shouldn’t have read it after Without you. Without You was such a beautiful and profound story. I definitely feel different about this one.

It was really enjoyable and I couldn’t put it down, but the whole thing was kind of ridiculous. There was cheating, pining and so much angst that I thought I was going to be heartbroken. I literally felt nothing but amusement, I had no sympathy for any of the characters because honestly they were all idiots. Everything that happened could’ve been solved if they all had a conversation.

Personally, I didn’t really like Elena. It was nice that we got to see her perspective, even if her chapters kind of made me dislike her more. Not that I think what happened to her was ok, she definitely didn’t deserve to be cheated on. I just don’t understand what was the point of her being with Gael. She clearly knew how Jordan and Gael felt towards each other. The whole family knew and joked about it! She knew from day one, yet she still acted shocked about the whole thing. She was basically cool with it until she wasn’t.

Overall, I really did enjoy it. I can’t stop thinking about it. The bonus epilogue was so good, i think I actually kind of loved this book. Everything that happened was so unbelievable, yet I couldn’t look away! I stayed up until I finished it.
It was definitely entertaining.

A perfect example of a book that has has everything you want, but you just want MORE.

Gael and Jordan take you on a great ride from friends to lovers. At first I was a bit taken aback at how quickly their relationship developed, but then that beautiful twist happened that had me reaching for the tissues.

Both of the characters are written extremely well, their alternating perspectives giving you a really well rounded heart-wrenching experience. Reading from Jordan’s perspective in particular was so sad; his love for Gael as his best friend overpowering his own need for more was so raw.

These two guys go through hell and back to get their HEA, and I loved the angst here. Not knowing if Gael would make his way back to Jordan had me powering through this book at record speed.

I just wish there was more; more push and pull, more drama with Elena (seriously, that poor girl), more hoops to jump through… it felt too easy towards the end. They both individually fought so hard just for it to very quickly go in the direction they needed. I know I know, I’m being greedy here, but I just felt it needed a little extra something to truly shatter my soul.

Overall, a great read. Marley has whipped out a great character driver story, and if you enjoy friends to lovers then this is one for your list.
