This was a really fun read.
Delilah & Henry work for a PI firm that specializes in retrieving rare books. This is their first case together and they have to go undercover as a married couple.
The romance is a slow burn which I liked and there’s no unnecessary break up in the third act. And I really liked that the heroine is the badass and the hero is the sweet librarian.
If you’re looking for a romance with a bit of action read this book.

I don’t read many romantic suspense books. But this was an exception for two reasons: I adore this author and fake marriages are my very favorite trope. And it turns out, I loved the suspense just as much as the romance. Kathryn Nolan created an intriguing world with rich, complex characters and just enough mystery to keep interest high.

I love a smart, handsome hero just as much as I love a fierce, fearless heroine. And in this case they complemented each other beautifully. I loved how they took turns taking charge with each other; trusting the other implicitly. And Henry’s career as a librarian helped him to truly appreciate flaws and imperfections, not just in rare books, but in life and love as well.

But, for me, one character stood out above the rest. As a fellow Ravenclaw, I was immediately drawn to Freya. I absolutely cannot wait for her story!

Romance and intrigue

Wow! This book will go down as one of my favorite reads. I took the plunge into this side of books and libraries that I had no idea existed. The story is exquisite and the romance is spot on. These two are forced together, but what they find is what they’ve been missing all along. Henry’s passion drew me in and Delilah’s boldness made me feel like a badass too. Their love story develops as they draw closer to their prize and finally realize that their prize is different than either of them originally thought. Highly recommend!

5 “I need a Henry Finch” Stars!!!

I don’t know why or who or what or when, but why haven’t I read this author before? This was my first full-length Kathryn Nolan book and OH-MY-GAWD it was so damn good! It goes without saying that yes, there were snippets here and there about Henry and Delilah that Kathryn gave us in her sexy shorts, and quite honestly those teases had me yearning for Henry and Delilah’s full story. And oh boy, I was not disappointed at all.

I couldn’t put this book down. The intrigue, suspense, mystery and chemistry kept me hooked and on the edge of my seat. Twists and turns here and there that kept the action on full display. Honestly it felt like I was watching a movie that’s how vividly visual the words on the pages had me feeling.

Delilah and Henry are simply phenomenal. Delilah is fierce and independent and just one hell of a badass. Henry is so intelligent and quite frankly a sexy as hell nerd. The chemistry between these two is fire, they’re scorching hot. They compliment each other in every way. They make the perfect team and together, they’re unstoppable.

Behind the Veil is the perfect combination of mystery and romance. It’s super smart and all kinds of sexy. It’s filled with suspense and action. This world that Ms. Nolan has vividly created is addicting and fun and it’ll have you wanting more.

Highly recommend!

Former detective and librarian go undercover as newlyweds to recover a valuable manuscript. I adored them both - she's intuitive and fierce, and he's a brilliant, sexy, glasses-wearing nerd. Theirs is a slow burn, partners to lovers romance, with mucho sizzling chemistry and sexual tension. Their different strengths complement each other perfectly, and they make kick-ass couple.

There's such a good process of them learning to work with and trust each other, and seeing their love-for-show becoming something real. And it's so *hot* when they finally got it going - our geeky librarian's deliciously dirty side is a revelation! No
Spoiler80% break-up: in place of that is something that gave me *all* the feels
. 😍 The chase is so fun and exciting - I had such a great time with this one!

Delicious, delicious Henry and Delilah. Both burned by people they trusted, both out to save a rare manuscript stolen from a museum, both about to fall head over heels when they least expect to. Kathryn Nolan has written a sexy, intriguing, romantic tale for booklovers everywhere in 'Behind the Veil'. One of my new favourites!

A must read!

This book has been on my ‘shelf’ for a while…. What was I thinking?!?!?!? I loved this story and cannot wait to devour more of the Codex series.

A fake relationship storyline is my favorite trope and this one doesn’t disappoint. Henry is adorably sweet, yet sex-on-a-stick steamy when he wants to be. Delilah is a strong, take-no-crap female who kicks butt while sweetly falling in love. The steamy chemistry, sexy fan-your-face scenes, suspenseful moments, and adorable moments make this book a must read!

Keeping up with the Thornhills

Theoretically, this book has a great premise. Fake marriage, rare book theft intrigue, bougie Philly high society shenanigans, it’s all very Keeping up with the Joneses. But something felt off for me, it never feels high stakes as it should, and the suspense is nonexistent. In fact most of the book drags, and dare I say, is boring; even the romance, which is supposed to be slow burn (which this author usually does extremely well) but Henry and Delilah completely lacked the chemistry I’d want.

Maybe it was just me, but I couldn’t connect, with the characters or the story. It was like all the emotion in the book was muffled or something. Maybe I picked it up at a wrong time. The most interesting part of the book to me was the thief, go figure. That said, I do like the author’s writing a lot. And Abe and Freya intrigued me enough that I want their stories. Though I was really hoping they would be together.
