I loved this a lot. I loved the story, I loved the exploration of grief and I love a tortured soul. I adored Hattie and I loved the way she got closure from her sister, eventually. Could this have been a little shorter? Yes. I’m not sure we needed over 500 pages. Still a good read!

Note: This review is for an ARC and is my unbiased opinion.

Meghan Quinn put a little bit of everything into The Way I Hate Him and it paid off. It had her trademark humor. I laughed hard many times throughout the book. There was a big emotional piece to the story with Hattie's sister's death from cancer (not on page and prior to start of the book) and Hayes's upbringing. There was a lot of moving through Hattie's grief, and I may have had tears in my eyes at a couple points, but it was well balanced with the humor and the romance. Speaking of the romance, it was sweet, passionate, and highly entertaining. Hattie and Hayes had the best banter. I loved what they brought out in each other. I also loved all the family and friendship aspects included in the story. Hattie's family learning to move on was special and I loved the beef between them and Hayes. This book was filled was such good stuff! It was everything I have come to expect from a Meghan Quinn romance and more. It left me with that warm, happy feeling. I hope we get more books about this family, Abel, and Hattie's best friend.
