This memoir was so powerful. I spent the majority of the book ugly crying. It opened my eyes. Due to the current situation going on in Palestine, I went searching and found this book. I had no idea the horrors they are going through and have been going through for 75 years. Please pick up this book. It is so powerful and moving.

Never has a book been so important at this moment and yet I don’t have words to describe the horrors and tragedy that Ahed has seen in her young life. Yet despite all the pain and suffering she’s witness, her strong and determination is amazing.  Spending eight months in a prison only causes her beliefs and determination to grow.

I wanted to read a book from a Palestinian’s point of view and this book was a tough read but I leaned a lot while reading.

Extremely inspiring and a galvanizing story. I am constantly impressed by the accomplishments and willpower of young women. I kind of wish there was a bit more historical context but that’s nitpicking. The story spoke for itself and was extremely inspiring.
