This is a trimmed down version of my review, to view the full review visit The Book Ramble.

I received a copy of this book from Dynamite on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A while back I reviewed another Bob's Burgers comic book, which I wasn't fully sold on. And once again I'm having the same problems. I do think most of the stuff I didn't like has been removed or replaced in some way, but it doesn't really have the same charm as the show when conveyed in a comic form for the most part so I'm still just not sold.

The book had 3 main parts, with a few appearances from the parents, and 1 actual Bob's Burgers kind of story. Each of the kids had a section, they were basically the same as the previous series. "Tina's Erotic Friend Fiction", "Louise's Unsolved Mysteries and Curious Curiosities", and "Gene's Rhymey Rhymes That Could One Day be Songs" are the 3 main sections of the series. Then there are "Fantasy Food Truck Ideas" and "Linda's Attempt to Take a Family Photo" which are single page gags. There was also 1 big story that was not in any of these categories. I found Louise's section and the big story to general fit with the show the most.

"Tina's Erotic Friend Fiction" is overall okay, but not my favourite section in this book. It was mostly just versions of famous movie plots.

"Louise's Unsolved Mysteries and Curious Curiosities" was the strongest section of the book as the tone and content really fit with what one would expect from Bob's Burgers. The art was also consistently really adorable, which I enjoyed quite a lot.

"Gene's Rhymey Rhymes" was consistently funny but not my favourite section because I find Gene as a character kind of boring. His stories, like Tina's, are usually just versions of famous stories.

The "Fantasy Food Truck Ideas", of which there are only 2, were kind of boring and not particularly funny. Great art though. "Linda's Attempts to Take a Family Picture" were just sight gags that didn't really do much for me. These were just kind of fun throw ins I think, but just seemed like wasted efforts for gags that didn't really do much.

Finally, the big story "Bizarre Bazaar" was really good, probably the strongest part of the book. The entire story just reads like an episode of the show and really just highlights the charms of the show - the puns, the character relationships, and the ridiculousness of it all. I really would prefer to see the comics formatted more like this instead of these gimmicky little shorts from the kids.

Overall it wasn't amazing but it's worth a read for fans of the show.

I’m a big fan of Bob’s Burgers, it’s one of the series’ I’ve seen multiple times and a comfort show of mine, too. I can’t believe this has been out in the world for seven years and I only just found it yesterday!

I really enjoyed the art, I loved seeing different interpretations and the concept/cover art. I think my favourite was the pin-up art. I love seeing cartoon characters drawn in a realistic way and I love seeing what different kinds of ways people imagine them as.

Some of my favourite episodes are the ones where the kids get to share their stories, I love the fun directions they go into. This comic was pretty much like one of those episodes with little nuggets from the show and the same great sense of humour. My least favourite were Gene’s and my favourites were Tina’s, pretty much the same as I feel about their stories on the show too!

I’m so happy these are on Kindle Unlimited and I can’t wait to read more.

I love Bob's Burgers. LOVE love love it. So I was overjoyed to see this collection on Netgalley for review. The collection was cute and funny. It definitely helped me get through the mid season break of Bob's Burgers. I really wanted there to be a little more Bob and Linda in these stories, but I enjoyed them. The art was varied and pretty true to form. This was definitely enjoyable and would be great for any Bob's Burgers fan, but I wouldn't give it to someone who wasn't familiar with the show.
