This was another great compilation in the Power & Magic series. While some of them didn't quite move me either from art style or story the whole book is well worth your time!

A bit shorter and not as strong in quality as Power & Magic, but still an enjoyable graphic anthology! My favorites of the collection were Magical Girl Crisis by Patdag and Bon Voyage My Chains by Sonia Liao.

3.5 ⭐️. I broke down each of the stories as follows:
- Magical Girl Crisis: 2.75
- Heirloom: 3
- Mahk Jchi: 3.25
- Mu: 3.5
- Admonitions: 2.75
- An Unexpected Specter: 4
- The Woman Who Waits: 4
- Hungry: 3.25
- Requiem: 3.75
- Bon Voyage My Chains: 4.5
(The .25 and .75 are more because I couldn’t decide between two numbers, usually a whole number and a .5). My main and really only complaint about this anthology is that most of the stories felt like introductions or somehow unfinished. Like they were missing the beginning or some exposition. They weren’t bad, and they were all well-drawn, but I felt like I A) didn’t know the characters, and B) needed more background for the situation to have full weight. I would have paid extra for each story to have just a few more pages.

My favourite was An Unexpected Specter, and I also really liked Makh Jchi, Mu, The Woman Who Waits (hell of a twist in this one!), and Bob Voyage My Chains. Ultimately, unfortunately, I didn’t like this one as much as Power & Magic. It’s a 3.5/5 for me.

Two confirmed trans characters. Like P&M most comics contain f/f pairings but not all, and identities are never given.

I was really hoping that there would be continuations of some of the stories from the first volume but there wasnt. There were so many stories fit in this that nothing had time to be flushed out.

About half of these stories end ambiguously, or unhappily, which is not really what I look for in a book. Still a worthwhile read, just maybe not one to go for if you're already feeling down.
