Stories range from "very good but not my thing" to "fantastic!" I enjoyed the three themes, and thought Jane Yolen's poems to start each section were evocative. Plenty of hard, soft, and combination SF that's diverse in just about all ways (except all written by women).

Favorites include "Ice in D Minor: unique combining of music and SF that is beautiful in its own icy way), "What We Knew Then (Before the Sky Fell Down)": a brilliant new twist on an post-apocalyptic western US; "The Trojan Girl": cyberspace crossing just a bit with reality in a complex tale; The Greatest Discovery of Dr. Madeleine Lightfoot': combining biology and psychology of a species of unknown intelligence; and "Remember This For Me"--a mysterious tale of artistic inspiration.

Definitely recommended to just about all older-teen and adult science fiction fans.
