Solid 3.5 stars! I want to rate it higher but it’s not Great Literature or affected me deeply or changed my life so I can’t rate it 4 or 5 stars. But I have become attached to the characters, especially having been with them for 6 novels and 1-2 novellas. I love their relationships and they do stick with me.

The mysteries are pretty good - I have sometimes figured it out before the heroes do and sometimes I haven’t.

If you like mysteries with clean romance thrown in, i definitely recommend these.

This is my favorite entry in this series yet! In addition to the rich historical and setting detail, this book is set within the childhood home of Gage. For the first time, we get to learn about Gage’s challenging family and the people who shaped his life. I loved the new characters we gained in this story. I hope to meet them again soon!
