Became apparent she was going to get with her cousin. Wasn’t the best book in the first place that took it over the line

All her books...
Reread august 2022- so not my favorite of hers but I figured out it’s because Edmund just don’t have enough life to do this book Justice. Darcy and Mr Knight are way better guys and those are my two favorites. Edmund is just whiny to Fanny then one day says oh hey I might actually like you

I adore Jane Austen, but the first half of the book felt like it was written by someone else it was so boring. After finishing it, I know it was felt necessary to lay the foundation, but it truly was bad. The ending gained all my stars and happy Jane Austen feelings.

So I found a delightful BBC dramatization with Felicity Jones as Fanny, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Edmund! Needless to say I throughly enjoyed it, but I would like to go back and read the full story at some point, since I adore Jane Austen and she deserves multiple re-reads and all the performances of her works, be it radio or movie or tv. Though nothing compares to her witty writing style and ingenious social commentary!

SLOOOOOWWWWW!!!!! This is by the far the slowest of the Austen novels yet! It's a good thing I watched a film version beforehand so I could stay with it long enough to get into it (250 pages later...) Glad I read it but won't do it again any time soon!

I can’t rate this book, but I will say it’s one of my favorites of hers. Fanny was unlikeable and the story was placed in a historical moment of influence. It’s completely different from all of Austen’s other novels.

would’ve had a similar high rating to pride and prejudice for me if the ending was different 😬 yes, it was slow at parts, but the dynamics between the crawfords and bertrams were the level of scandalous i wanted.

Spoiler leave out the incest next time jane, yeah?
