Beautifully illustrated, engaging mixture of text and images, but for a book that purports to be anti racist it is divisive and labels/categorises everyone. I was also expecting a variety of activities but these were all journal prompt.

This is a very quick read that would be especially wonderful for young adults/teens but is also very approachable for anyone who is starting in on a journey to understanding how to be an anti-racist. There are activities following every short chapter, a glossary to better understand terminology, and succinct stories throughout. Great book!

I just keep adding to my kids' reading lists! This one would be great to work though as a family. Read it on Kindle but can't wait for my paper copy to arrive!

This is a phenomenal book for the classroom, with lots of spaces to invite student inquiry and further research and discussion.

There were just a couple of elements just by virtue of keeping it a short and easy read for youth that I would elaborate on more if using this book in class, but that’s what class discussions are for!

I thought this was a great book to help me learn more about the BIPoC community / global majority and what I could do to be a better ally. This is a book I strongly recommend if you are looking to improve your knowledge about anti-racism. This book covered topics from feminism to how to be an active ally, everyone will be able to connect with something from ‘This Book is Anti-Racist’.

This is a wonderful book for kids to start learning how to identify and right racism. It started a good conversation between myself and my ten-year-old daughter. I'm not sure the age its geared towards but there is no such thing as being too young to learn about the history of racism in our country and how to use your voice for good. There are activities they can do to learn more about themselves and their privilege. There are tips on how to use their voice to call people in or out, and other suggestions on how they can get involved in the fight against racism. I read a library copy and will be purchasing an ebook version for my Kindle to have on hand to refer to people. Knowledge is power, and this book is full of it. Highly recommended for kids (and their parents) interested in taking their activism to the next level.

This is a fabulous book for middle grade and young adults (probably middle and high school ages). It explains complex concepts in racism, breaking down things for the younger audience. After most chapters there is a journaling exercise that reminds me of an age appropriate version of Me & White Supremacy. I like that it gives the audience action items with examples.

Note about the kindle version: it’s not formatted for the Kindle. My copy had numerous typos, there was a section in the middle where pages were missing and I had to do an overview to skip ahead to continue. I definitely recommend this in physical book form.

Excellent resource designed for teens but would be good for anyone beginning their anti-racist journey. Includes self reflection exercises and concrete actions and suggestions for future actions.

Living in Sweden after the latest election this book is horrifyingly important. Read this. Share it with your kids. Share it in your churches, organizations and workplaces. ANYWHERE!
