This took me so long to read because as I agreed with each point, I slid further into pessimism. I just can’t see how we’re going to get there. Wright said his favorite utopias were libraries and Wikipedia. But maybe he hadn’t tried being a part of either?

A well argued plan for “eroding Capitalism” that sounds less like weak incrementalism and more like a viable roadmap out of our dead end neoliberal nightmare. Despite both the introduction and afterward framing the text as accessible and deliberately non-academic in presentation I did still find myself struggling though some of the drier passages but ultimately got a good amount out of it.

As an idiot moron know nothing when it comes to this kind of stuff, this whole book was great and informative. My one standout take is that is was really cool to see how most of this stuff about eroding capitalism and promoting socialism is actually literally done by bolstering democracy. Kinda cool kinda fun!

Nice little introduction to anticapitalism, and I like that this does have some good recommendations for at least some steps to be taken in reducing the overwhelming sledgehammer that is capitalism.
Not the most radical book by any means, but something nice to get for a friend who hates their job and wonders why and what they can do.
