I have an unpopular opinion about this book. I saw people say that gets better with each book, but I liked The Awakening better than this one. Neither of the books really had a plot, but The Awakening was an introduction to the characters and the world so i didn't mind. This one was basically the twins coming up with pratical jokes to get their revenge on the heirs and then going to a party, I still enjoyed it, but I guess I just wanted a little more plot. And I also wanted the twins to get more revenge on the heirs, I feel like they got off pretty easy after what they did at the end of The Awakening.

Another unpopular opinion is that i saw in most reviews that you either cared about Darcy and Orion or about Tory and Darius, but OMG I love both sooooooooo much and their scenes in this book were sooooo good.

I wasn't really sure about Tory and Darius before, I feel like they didn't get musch scenes in the first book, but this one sold me! The tension between them was so good!!!!!! I'm so excited for the rest of their story, I love the slow burn!!

And Darcy and Orion!!!! Ugh I love them from the first book, but I do think that they were way into each other in this one and I prefer slow burn. But wtv I still love them and the scene in the pool was amazing!!! And I can't to see what will happen next!!!

Also, that ending!!!!!!!!! It was amazing!!!! Can't wait for the next book!!!!!!

The professor / student pairing heats up. More forbidden spiciness and lots of pining. A new mystery presents itself. And my favorite secondary character starts to become more important to the plot. So much fun. 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I loved seeing the girls fight back! Their form of revenge is so smart and good. Lots of relationships starting to form and develop and I think this is the beginnings of characters starting to understand each other. Absolutely unhinged and I loved it

well it certainly was better than the first book, but i still feel like a whole lotta nothing happened!
there were some good scenes, and it was kinda fun getting pov chapters of the celestial heirs.
lemme give my personal ranking of how likable they are:
  1. orion (pretty interesting dude, got a lot riding on the tension)
  2. caleb (only heir to actually do something about everyone’s insane attraction to the twins)
  3. darius (brooding and anger issues can only take you so far in life)
  4. seth (still angry at him for cutting off darcy’s hair and wearing it like a freak)
  5. max (so irrelevant)

Like #1, not good but passably entertaining. Lots of the same issues as with #1. Pacing is weird. These 450+ page books have covered like 2 months total. Still not into the bully romance aspect. Meh, we’ll see if I continue reading the series.
