I've read this book too many times to count. It's my favorite type of story (end of the world/apocolypse/zombies) and an easy read! Nothing complicated, just a major, life shattering event and a father's journey towards his son. Love it.

Stephen King tackles zombies... and should probably never do that again. First off, if I didn't already know it was a Stephen King, I probably would have never guessed. It was very forgettable and fairly bland for a zombie book. And I just found out that it's getting the movie treatment as all King books do. Perhaps John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson will freshen things up in a screen story.

My Review: I say this with love in my heart- Cell is not Stephen King’s best work. Rarely do I find myself halfway through a King tale feeling distracted and disconnected from the characters. Even as I read the final chapters, the plot still hadn’t truly pulled me in. It was more gory than story, as they say, and I’ve never been a fan of the shock factor without an intriguing plot to back it up- I’ve always seen it as lazy writing.
I do love the cliffhanger ending, though, so I must give credit where credit is due. No fairytale happy endings for Mr. King, even in his less-than-effortful novels. Props!

Too dependent on dated cultural and technological references. characters weren't fully fleshed out and it was difficult to root for anyone.
