The story has improved since the first book, I really enjoyed this!
It might be that because we don't need a worldbuilding anymore on this one, that the plot actually started right away from the beginning. Can't wait to finish this trilogy soon 😊

4.5 Stars actually.

Oh boy, this book! Tara Sim may be one of my faves soon. This was very good. The characters are still so cute as before but this time you can see that they have grown and developed into more mature people (even though they still make some stupid decisions). Love the slow quality of the relationships and the fact that none of them are simple.
The plot and the twists are still a little predictable as in the first book, but they still pack a punch right in you feels. Specially the one regarding Colton (here I must say that some of my predictions after the first book were wrong). And the ending! Is it 15th of January 2019, cos I’m dying here! I need the last book.
The were obviously some things that I didn’t like, but it was again the fact that the world building didn’t work for me, like in the previous one. It wasn’t as bad this time but still we have a character (minor, at least for now), that is conveniently inventing a high tech things, like radio detonators. But the author did research of the historical/political context so I’m gonna overlook the whole “technology-too-advanced-and-not-explained-why-it-should-exist” thing.

I enjoyed this book over all more then the first book, but I disliked how it ended in a cliffhanger.
In the books defense, it HAD to end in a cliffy or the book would be way longer the the first book.

I liked how I guessed correctly about things forshadwed in the first book (how Clockspirits are made)
And I was a little sad that my guesses of what was going on in this book didn't come true. I do think that it's not really possible to guess what's going on, as we don't have enough information inorder to make any real guesses, but I also skimmed most of Daphnes chapters so...I could be wrong, lol 😂 maybe they did foreshadow what the water could mean, who knows

I think our main couple is a lot better, and Corten gets lots of development.

The historical elements from our real world felt pretty weird to me, but Idk

I enjoyed this, probably not as much as the first, but it was still really good. Last two thirds really picked up the story and I liked seeing more of Daphne. PLEASE tell me that book 3 is out soon because I cannot wait another year after that ending!
