This book is 85% sex, 10% weird ESP and 5% murder mystery and it’s just.... way too much. Too horny for 1:40pm on a Tuesday.

Started with a bang but fizzled out.
The dialogue is poorly scripted and the characters are superficial. I found it difficult to care about any of them and the paranormal aspects were poorly integrated.

This is a sad review for me; I usually really like all the books that I read. In fact, I loved the storyline of this book and the characters. What I didn't like and what totally took away from the books was almost all of the sex scenes. I felt like I was ping-ponging between a good book and an adult romance book and porn. The sadness is this book didn't need those scenes written like that, and in fact, it took away from the story. I can't say I will read the additional two books.

An enjoyable and gripping story, which certainly keeps you guessing to who the killer is. Although I did notice some reviews, comment on the violence in this book and I must say I didn't find it particularly violent and I've certainly read a lot of books which are much more graphic and violent than this one.

As for the actual story, it was enjoyable to read. And the group of characters, eccentric, but very likable. Plus, the romance between FBI Agent Dallas Sloan and Genny Madoc was very sweet and engaging. And it worked well with the suspense element of the story.

So if you enjoy a good Romantic Suspense, especially ones with unusual elements such as psychics then you should certainly check The Fifth Victim out.

Beverly Barton sure knows how to keep things suspenseful. This was another good book. Think I am just about finished all of her books.
