This was so good! This is a loose Cinderella retelling with a fantasy twist and it worked SO WELL! I loved all the characters so much! Katria and Davien are such a perfect pair. She is so strong with amazing instincts while he is so patient and understanding of her past trauma. There were a few slow spots in the middle and I found the history and world-building to be a bit confusing, but as the book continues it all pulls together to make sense. There are so many nods to the original cinderella story that I wasn't expecting, especially towards the end and it was so intriguing! I also really loved that there wasn't a third act breakup! 10/10 recommend!

A great HEA in a universe of books. I enjoyed this storyline a bit more than first one in the Married to Magic books.

Loved it!! It’s a perfect stand alone book that has you not wanting to put it down and begging for more! I’m very glad I read the other book in the series as the special chapter had me delighted as the two worlds where linked together!

I had to wait till the book was 96% done for literally every character to figure out the big “Ah-Ha” moment. For why? There are all these great tropes and they have all the intensity of a S’more. I refuse to rate less than three stars because this series is very creative and I appreciate that they are stand alone stories. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!

Elise kova did it again. When I tell you I am obsessed with this woman, like I hope both sides of her pillow are cold because I believe in Elise kova supremacy.

This book was absolutely magical and once again I expect nothing less from an author who create settings that just encapsulates you into a world you wish to never be sucked out of. This book was only 300 pages long but the way she was able to make it a slow burn with the right amount of plot was astounding this book felt longer than 300 pages, and maybe that’s cuz I was just feeling like I was living in it.

It was also a Cinderella/ Pyche and Eros retelling, that for those who don’t know my all time Greek mythology couple is Eros and pyche

A Dance with the Fae Prince by @elise.kova

I immediately read this one after A Deal with the Elf King. And I liked it even more. The plot I thought was more interesting and it is a Cinderella type retelling.

Katria is unloved by her family and ultimately sold to the highest bidder for marriage. Her betrothed is Lord Fenwood who is mysterious and completely unknown to her.

Katria is taken to his estate to live and soon learns he is not a normal man like he seems. She is told to stay in her room at night, that it’s not safe to wander, and to not ask questions about the rules she must follow.

One night when Katria decides to abandon her rules she both sees and does something she shouldn’t and is submerged into the fae realm where survival for humans proves difficult. Her relationship with Lord Fernwood grows and she learns just who he really is (the true fae prince if you couldn’t guess by the title).

Katrina must ensure her own survival and that of Lord Fenwood in order to protect and secure the fate of the fae realm.

This read was a slow burn but not too slow- the pace was good and in my opinion had more spice than A Deal with the Elf King although it was still tame. A few parts read a bit slow (Katrina’s backstory specifically) but I overall liked the pace of the whole book. If you aren’t into heavy spice but like fantasy romances you’ll probably enjoy these books, or if you need a quick read or pallet cleanser as they are not dark.

Spice 2.5/5
Plot 4/5
Characters 5/5
Overall enjoyment 5/5
