Much more interesting than a book about porcelain ought to be. The prose is a little clunky, but the story is worthwhile.

Easily the most exciting history of 18th century porcelain manufacturing, corporate intrigue, political corruption and abuse of power. Did I mention the alchemy? Because there's alchemy too!
