The chokehold this book had on me when it was first published - this was the first time I'd read it since, over seven years ago.
'There was a storm coming, but that was not what she felt. It was adventure on the wind, and it shivered down her spine.'
That's the favourite. That's the one I remember, and the one that still resonates.
I'm rereading the trilogy before I donate them to someone else who will love the poems as much as I did, who needs them as much as I did in 2017. It's nice to look back on them, but I don't want to carry them with me, I want to keep looking forward in life, so it's time to part with them - I just wanted to put them on StoryGraph first.

So after reading Milk and Honey, and not loving it, I didn't want to give up on poetry. So I picked this up at Target and I loved it! Despite there being a lot of negative reviews, I really enjoyed this collection. A lot of poems really made me feel so happy and really thinking about certain situations in my life. I'm just going to share a few of the ones that I enjoyed.

I think it's beautiful
the way you sparkle
when you talk about
the things you love.

She was that wild thing I loved.
My dark between the stars.

Her heart was wild
but I didn't want to catch it
I wanted to
run with it
to set mine free.

And of course if you have read this collection, then you know the island poem at the end and it's just beautiful. It's a lot longer than the rest of the poems in this so I highly encourage you to pick this up and I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I did.

I was very disappointed at this book. All the pictures and poems were very alike and none of them made me feel anything, except this one.

“When I look at you
I find it hard to believe
that the whole universe had not conspired
to bring you to life.
I can’t think of a more beautiful reason
for it all to exist
than for you in this day.”

But the rest of the book? Meh. I felt like the author was trying to show the relationship between Him and Her as this intense and messy adventure... with a twist of broken hearts and alcohol... No thank you... I feel like I’m getting too old for these unhealthy teenager-like “poems” (more like sentences where someone pressed the “enter” key a lot) .. I’ve already seen enough of them on Tumblr.

“There’s too much risk in loving” the young boy said
“No” said the old man, “there’s too much risk in not”

“Sometimes I want a quiet life, other times I want to go a little bit fucking Gatsby.

Finished in one sitting.

This book made me shivered.

I really love Atticus' words and how he tells things about 'her'.

All the photographs are really amazing.

Loved it!
