An interesting biography of Lillian Wald. I had read a little bit about her and her work on Henry Street (East Side in New York), but didn’t know much about her. This was a well written, for the most part, biography. There were a few times I wasn’t quiet as interested, but overall it was good. A very fascinating look at what life was like for hundreds of immigrants in the late 1800s. I had no idea that Lillian Wald was the one who started getting nurses in schools, or pushed for playgrounds for children, started the Public Health Nurses, or many other things. While I don't agree with everything she did and pushed for, I can understand why she thought they were good ideas at the time.

For anyone interested in nursing, or just want a good biography of someone who was a nurse back when nursing was still not popular, I would recommend this. It is clean.
