Powerful, overcoming story of a family of kids who are in foster care due to a horrible, abusive mother. This true story is a tough one to read, but the kids were all able to redeem themselves (the system failed them over and over) and create wonderful lives.

*Petty note about the audio version: The author reads the book and her accent makes it sound like she is saying forster care instead of foster care every time. It was very distracting for me. Definitely not important in the grand scheme of her story, but it did bug me.
