So, this started off strong for me and I was really excited to see the direction it was headed. But, the ending was just … not at all what I was hoping for I guess? I felt let down in a way and like the character betrayed herself.

Harrowing scenes of human cruelty with a cathartic ending. If you want a classic witch persecution story read this. You'll get more than you bargained for and it'll be so worth it.

I support women’s rights, but more importantly i support women’s wrongs.

Slewfoot is the perfect October read! I also highly recommend listening to the audiobook.

I found myself rooting for Abitha at the start and continued to do so until the very end. <Despite all the blood and gore it is so satisfying to see Abitha get her vengeance.>

So the first mmmmmmmmm 35% bored me near to tears. Then at 40% I was like. Okay this is good and finally getting somewhere. Then I was upset at about the 55% mark. And. Then. They. Tossed. In. Animal. Abuse. For. Shits. And. Giggles. And then 85%-95% was good because they all got what they deserved and the feminine rage was there to play and I LOVED THAT. So overall it was a wild rollercoaster of ups and downs (with more downs) which makes it not. Hated but certainly not great. The art was stunning, the writing was good (a little confusing at times but that was mostly on purpose I think), and I am glad to have read it because the parts that I did like were like. 4.5 stars, and the ending was SO SATISFYING. But I really can’t forgive how bored I was and how much I wanted to throw the book at the wall during the parts I’ve already described. By all means. I really think people should give it a go because it was quite cozy and weird. But it just wasn’t for me unfortunately.
