Kind of failed to connect to the characters but the story is okay. Not what I expected I think but it was fine.

The plot holes and miscommunications were very annoying.

The entire evil company plot could've been dropped in favor of something just cozy and charming, with the commentary on homelessness, and vampirism as an allegory for queerness/disability, and it would've been better.

And there are no consequences for what they've done, I guess? It was all that easy?

This was cute but the pacing was too slow for me. I also think the premise of Wesley trying to destroy a whole corporation on his own didn’t make sense. And while I liked Vincent, he was trying his best with the options he had, I disliked Wes. He kept making the same mistakes in their “relationship” over and over again, even in the end with how he handled the third act break up. I also don’t understand how he supported himself with no job, and from what I can tell never had a job before so it’s not like he had saving. He was so inattentive to Vincent that he had to be hit in the face with the facts about Vincent’s life before he noticed how much Vincent was struggling. He was so wishy washy. I was often frustrated with him (or the both, or the story) for most of the book.

I just.... stopped caring? I think the audiobook format was the nail in the coffin
