This book was so so good. First of all, I love Olive and I know life as a PhD student cannot be easy. All the characters were lovable, and Adam is really just a sweetheart. A grumpy, antagonistic sweetheart. It’s so clear he got it bad. Watching their relationship unfold was so delicious.

Spoiler I have never rooted more for a couple to fuck, one, and two, Tom being a cunt completely made my mouth drop. That’s my fault for having faith in men. I didn’t know what the conflict would be but I was not expecting that.

I loved TLH. It gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

I have heard some people say it wasn’t for them because of a few writing errors and because the MC is portrayed as insecure. But that was what made me love the story. Because I am ambitious, but I am also an insecure person. I know what I want, but overthinking can often come in my way, and then I’ll always have my boyfriend and my friends to lean on, just like Olive.

This isn’t a major spoiler, but it mentions a thing about Olive, that we have in common.
Spoiler And… just like Olive, movies where horses dies? It is a big no for me. It is too emotional you know?

So Yeah. I am giving this a 5 star review. I am so happy for not letting the ‘negative’ reviews hinder me from reading the book. Totally, and utterly, in love with how the storyline progressed.

This was a really cute story that made me believe in love again and believe in kind guys who respect the wishes of their partners. I will definitely be reading more Ali Harwood books :)

The only thing I didn’t really like: I wasn’t a fan of Adam’s perspective that much only because I’m not a fan of “dirt words” in sex scenes as it were. And while there aren’t any throughout the book, those are in Adam’s section.
