This was so freaking adorable. Simon and his friends are such great characters that seem to jump off the page, they feel so real. I did guess Blue's identity long before Simon did but that didn't take anything away from the story. It was just so fun, I couldn't put it down!

Disclaimer: I typed most of this at an ungodly hour of the night so... I sound very eloquent. Yep.
Did I stay up until 1 AM on Sunday night reading this? Why, in fact, I did , good sirs. Do I regret it?

Anyways, I feel like it's been a while since I gave a book five stars so YAY I'm so glad I found something that deserves all five of those stars lol. This book was the most adorable thing I've ever read. Simon was so cute- don't even look at me like that we ALL KNOW this kid is adorable okay like blonde hair and Harry Potter references and "moon-gray eyes"? YES.
He and Blue were so cute both on email and in real life (but I'm also craving Oreos SO BADLY right now!) The only bad part of the book was when I digitally flipped the last page and it said "Acknowledgements" and I literally said "NO" out loud it was so sad.
This was so fluffy and the friendships were so cute and everything was so great. Blue has to be one of the best love interests ever, and Simon was like the most relatable hilarious main character because I'm just as awkward as he is. (Also for some reason Goodreads doesn't think relatable is a word? It's a word, right?)
I Loved this soo much with a capital "L" because it was THAT GOOD. I need another book so thank goodness she wrote a spin-off set in the same universe. It sadly isn't about Simon- it's about Leah, actually- and while I didn't love Leah too much in the book I just need more so I'm gonna read it lol.
Oh, also, I saw the movie a few weeks ago which is why I finally remembered I've had this book on my TBR for ages. Both were good (the book was MILES better though which isn't surprising but I also think I'll watch the movie like three more times in 2020 lol)
Thanks for coming to my TedTalk- I'm gonna go recommend this masterpiece to everyone and everything now! (You know who you are folks :)
UPDATE:
This book was even better the second time around lol. I think the first time I read it I was kinda confused- a lot of characters are thrown at you all at once and there's a LOT of pop culture references from 2014 that I kinda half-understood- but this time was a lot easier because I already knew what was going to happen.
Simon is, again, the most relatable teen character I've ever read lol. The amount of times he says "I don't even know" is ridiculous but also so accurate? And this book just has the best vibe and has everything that's actually good about school. They have Halloween and spirit week and the whole dynamic between the theater kids reminded me of my robotics team lol.
And now it's really about time I got around to the sequel, but I liked Leah even less the second time reading this, so I'm procrastinating it lol. If and when I ever read it, it'll definitely be just to see more of Simon and Bram.
