This is more or less a poetry book, and a good motivator. Lin-Manuel started doing these little pep talks on Twitter and they told him he should make a book from them. He said that he's made many friends from it and he's happy he started doing them. However, he is retiring them in 2020. Good for him for making a decision that benefits him. There are some things repeated, but you can only do some much before you run out of things. Some of them actually really spoke to me, and I'm sure if you picked it up, they'd speak to you too. Jonny's illustrations were really neat as well, especially the one on pages 20-21. Glad I was gifted this :)

I love Lin. I want him to be my best friend.

“Tired,but grateful.
 Sick, but grateful.
It’s grey out, but I’m grateful.
So much easier to start with grateful.”

Genuinely happy this exists. Also, I'm taking it as a hopeful sign that it was both the last book I read of 2018 and the first of 2019.

Gmorning!
I wish you clarity today.
Clarity of thought, clarity of expression, and a direct line between what you feel and what to do about it.

There is a lightness, a positivity, a charisma that energizes. Some days you need someone to acknowledge the battle. On others you need someone to push you onto the stage.

Gnight.
When you were born you held infinite promise.
You're older, you're all banged up by life.
But you hold that promise still.
KEEP GOING.

It may not be profound, and the hit-and-miss illustrations are what they are. The structure that works so effectively in daily social media bookends wears thinner when gulped down in a bound volume, but let's be frank: the draw is Miranda, and if his spirit is what attracted you, you will find what you seek.

Gnight.
Tomorrow we try again.
Rest up.

Lin-Manuel Miranda's book is something worth reading. I love how the things he put down is a reminder to each other and to ourselves to do our best every day, no matter how tired or how difficult things can get.

I'm grateful that he chose to do a book on what he wrote on Twitter. This is a book that should be on every person's bookshelf or coffee table.

Utterly charming. Short and sweet.

I've only seen Lin in Mary Poppins, but I really like him. This was a very upbeat, short book. I'm pretty sure he swore twice though, which was kind of a shock for a Disney character lol. I could totally imagine getting text messages like these pep talks.
