i devoured this even though i had mixed feelings about it in the beginning. the strangers to lovers to enemies to lovers again trope was everything. boyd pissed me off a little bit at times, but i’ll definitely be reading his and fiona’s book soon (he redeemed himself at the end).

The spice in this was *chefs kiss*, but I feel like there some pretty big leaps in logic when it came to the actual story. Like… I never really got what
Aiden’s initial aim was when he showed up to *ruin* Riley. Was he just trying to like… get people not to like her? Or like SA her? Or fuck her up? Also I think I could’ve used a little more Melli development in the beginning to make the end believable. For a literal psycho Aiden James fan, she realllllly played it super cool about the whole charity auction deal. If I KNEW that my favorite pop star would be in the same BUILDING as me, I’d be literally out of my gourd. Especially at 17!!??

Definitely read the content warnings!!

This book is problematic to put lightly. Tries turning r@pe into a romance by playing it off after the fact as kink when that's not at all how that kink works in reality. The mythological connection in this book is very obscure and forced. Even serious scenes the author tries forcing sexual tension and it just does not work. The only redeeming factors are that there are some good scenes and some decent dialogue on healing (but most of that is clouded with trauma bonding and toxic relationships).
