I cried for like the entire last 20% of this book… It has been a long time since a book/series had that much of an emotional impact on me!

The way it just all comes together in this finale. 😭 I too am sad to say goodbye to these friends ❤️

Spoilers: SJM does a marvelous job of tying in so many characters and planning out so many crazy tiny details and plot lines.
Some things I would’ve liked to have seen were endings for Nox & Dorian’s mother/brother. I found the whole interaction with the gods to be a little underwhelming, but perhaps that was the point? That we can hope for divine intervention, but ultimately must take our own fate into our own hands?

Spoilers: Despite all this I still give 5 stars because I honestly didn’t think I could care about these characters so much. I remember when Manon and the witches were introduced and I literally kept thinking “I don’t care about these characters at all, get me back to the main people!”
But let me tell you how much I BAWLED at the 13’s sacrifice 😭

I really enjoyed the ending of this book. I think it's a bit long and could have been a little bit shorter as small pieces of it seemed repetitive simply because it picks up another character's POV and does a little bit of backtracking.
Otherwise, I think this ended the series beautifully as I thought 6 years or so ago when I first read it.

Wow!!! What a conclusion to this series. I really loved how fast this book felt compared to the others, and I think the backstory was absolutely worth it to really feel the emotions of this book.

I wish we would’ve gotten a little bit more of their future than we did…and I would’ve loved to have seen more of a resolve in Manon and Dorian’s relationship (I know she would outlive him but still!!). But overall I love how Aelin really finds her way through the trauma by the end and is able to even overtake Maeve’s vision and start to destroy her within it.

A very good finale, although the start was let down by following on from the previous book’s cruelly horrific cliffhanger. Nevertheless, it picked up very quickly and gave all the great characters fitting stories to use and deepen them.

A very emotional fast moving final installment.

Some of the build up for the plot fell a little flat

This is probably a controversial opinion, but I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the others! I had a hard time staying interested and invested in the story. A lot of it felt like filler and was unnecessary. Idk, maybe my expectations were too high, but I found it to be kinda boring :(
Also the ending was cool with the kingsflame blooming n all, but idk, it was kinda anticlimactic imo… the biggest let down was Aelin’s arc… like throughout the series she is our heroine and a certified bad ass, but in this book its like she barely got to do anything and she’s the one that basically loses it all. How is that fair to her?? She def deserves a better storyline than that.

If you like Sarah J Maas, you will like this book.  I like the ACOTAR series and have read the Cresent City as well.   Finishing the Throne of Glass saga left me with a thought.  Just like her other book, the pacing is grating for me.  There is so much world-building and hand-holding and unnecessary pain for shock.  Then, the last hill of a roller coaster in the last 100 pages.   It leaves you emotionally raw, stripped, and, for me, not in a good way.  I thought this was the series that started her journey, and I watched the progression of her writing style.  The structure and pacing are all the same, so I am done.    Alien, Feyre, and Bryce are all the same with just enough variance to say some are different.    I am done with Maas, but for others her books are golden and for her writing style this one is a good one.
