The book is more are relevant than ever in this current age of smart-things.
We can allude kind of allude to the current state of constant tracking, targeted ads and a feel of lack in privacy to how the characters are being watched in the novel.
The phrase "big brother is watching you" really stays with us.
It's slow in the middle but catches on. It's a really immersive read with us feeling attentive and paying close attention to all the small details. You feel as if something big is going to go down anytime.
You can also really feel the erinness of being watched on your back as you read the parts where the main character is being watched.
Overall the novel is a really enthralling experience and I highly recommend it.

Ma olin pikalt 4 ja 5 tärni vahel, aga otsustasin siiski 5 kasuks. Kolmas osa murdis mu. See raamat on nii sügav ja tume ning samas realistlik, et mul on raske seda võrrelda ühegi teise raamatuga. Raske on sõnadesse panna neid tundeid, mida see teos minus tekitas. Orwell on geenius ning mul on raske ette kujutada, kus ta selle idee peale tuli. Must-read kõigile inimestele. Täielik kunstiteos.

This book was very on the nose , the entire message simply being that totalitarianism is bad. This book seemed indicative of some modern day countries, like North Korea, but other than it was hard to relate to or apply to a wider context. Yes, propaganda and mind control is happening today on social media (our telescreen) but 1984 wasn't the book that could predict this contemporary problem and all its nuances. It was a border line boring book but I'm glad I read it as a basic classic
