This book was a solid 3.5 so not bad but not great either. I would give it 2.5 maybe a 3 in spice. You do get some hot spice but this is a slow burn and that spice doesn't come in until towards the end. It is hot but not kinky or long scenes. The plot in its self was pretty good. The twist and turns made me give this book the three stars. I really like the office romance with her boss and the fact it was grumpy sunshine was nice also. It was more her chasing him and him being the more insecure one. I did enjoy this book but I don't feel like it will stand out when looking back.

It was good, more than what I expected. I loved the MCs and definitely felt the sexual tension but the chemistry was not enough for me?? But overall, the plot, the characters, the storyline was good.

• didn’t expect to love this so much, shocked I already have a 5 star read in the bag this year
• I adore Reed Eastwood so much, such a massive softie when it comes to our sunshine Charlotte but a grump with everyone else
• fulfilling a bucket list with the love interest has become a new favourite trope
• also adored Charlotte, she was super fun and clumsy but also a great companion for Reed
• loved that it had some great banter but also some wonderful serious moments, think the disability and medical topics were handled really well
• great tension, it’s not too high on the smut scale but I did appreciate that there was a solid build up in their relationship and some good depth and it wasn’t just smut for the sake of it
• I do wish they’d utilised her surname (darling) as a nickname more throughout the book, I’m a sucker for a sweet nickname
• I kinda wish we had a book following Max, I would love to see him settle down especially following his advice-giving conversation with Reed towards the end of the book

TWs: Cheating (before book), workplace sexual harassment, alcoholism, child abandonment, adoption, minor medical emergency, hospitalisation, multiple sclerosis, ableism, anxiety, PTSD, Crohn’s disease, death of mother (in book), depression

A tropetastic contemporary romance that features enemies to lovers, sunshine/grump, bucket lists, family matchmakers and lots and lots of romance. Reed and Charlotte are perfect for each other and with a little help from Reed's grandmother Iris they find their love.

Set in a New York city real estate firm, Reed and Charlotte spend a lot of time doing work as well as play. If you like a romance set in the office to feel like people are still getting their job done, this could be a romance for you. They still get periodically sidetracked by both MCs bucket lists which is a lot of fun.

As a steam rating this book is pretty low steam, there is sex in the final chapters of the book which is fully described (this is not a closed door romance) but it's pretty slow burn up until then. I think one of the best romcom proposals I've ever read more than makes up for the slowburn.

This story deals with some heavy themes around the cute bucklist romance including death of a family member and chronic illness.
