Karin knows how to write a thriller what can I say. I love Slaughter's work because it has tact. Yes, there is violence, but it is not just for the sake of violence. There is social commentary in her books that is hard to find in the thriller genre. Besides that, I just love Will Trent and all his awkwardness. He's such a breath of fresh air that breaks the stereotypical hyper-masculine, ball-busting cop character. Also I have a crush on him. I took off a star because there were some iffy comments about trans women towards the end that I didn't think were really necessary.Â
