A quick read that packs a punch. Not just for lovers of Ursula K. LeGuin, though if you love her writing (which if you don't, please reconsider), you are in for a fantastic delight. Garbinsky wrote each piece in the chapbook as an erasure poem of LeGuin's writing. These poems are deft and clever; they flutter across the page like brilliant snow and much like snowfall, each individual movement of a line is enchanting as it connects to the greater whole. A few faves whose formatting I will unfortunately not be able to replicate:

your life is / going to end / Stories / are what death / can't understand / they don't end (8)

Teaching / seems the / best way / to come out on the other side of / suffering (15)

Again, my quotes above do no justice to how Garbinsky thoughtfully places the poem on the page. If you are new to poetry, if you are old to poetry, just go now to download this micro-chap: https://ghostcitypress.com/2018-summer-microchap-series/all-spells-are-strong-here

the poetry is strong in this one. beautiful. i like the style of it, it reminded me of blackout poetry without the original poems to blackout.
