I feel like barely anything happened in this book. Super disappointed by this one but that’s kind of on me since I only picked it up because my dog’s name is Fable and the second book is titled Namesake. Ugh how perfect is that?! Oh well.

I really liked reading about Fable as a character because she was reckless but still smart enough not to do things that may make her frustrating. The aesthetics of the ocean and islands and travel while not constantly fast-paced were enough for me to stay invested, especially when it involved other characters until I learned to care about them. For my first book about sea wayfarers and trade, I really enjoyed it!
