i was going back and forth between 3.75 and 4 stars but went with the former because the ending was a little bit underwhelming for me. i feel like i enjoyed the first 50% of the book more than the last half, even though i was having a hard time keeping up with all the characters they introduced in the beginning.
i’m torn because lowkey james deserved what happened to him, but i felt so sorry for amanda and her getting roped in without knowing the backstory. i feel bad for shay too, despite her being pretty naive. i felt like the only character i truly liked was sean lol
still a solid read from this duo albeit my least fave i’ve read so far from them.

I would’ve rated this book higher except I could barely finish it because I was too emotionally invested in the feelings of the main character. The ending gave me the closure I needed though.

I enjoyed the book. It's hard not to compare it to The Wife Between Us which was just really really good. So this one didn't live up to that one, but it was still worth reading.

tbh, having the main character be socially awkward was super relatable. The lengths she goes to in order to avoid certain things is incredibly realistic to me. And having all her oddities construed incorrectly was like a nightmare realized. So, great characterization with that bit

This was an alright book. I feel like the characterization of Shay is just kind of "girl who likes data," without a tremendous amount of depth. I was interested in what was going to happen here, but I did wish Shay opened her eyes a little and wasn't quite so gullible in most of the book.

After loving An Anonymous Girl, I knew I wanted to read more from this duo! I enjoyed the switching POVs, mainly between Shay and Cassandra/Jane! We also get flashes from other side characters both past and present.

I loved the character developments and complexities, with each POV they have distinctive voices from one another.
Without being too spoiler-y, it was so interesting to see Cassandra and Jane going from these protectors/advocates to becoming exactly the people they fight against. It was truly stunning and compelling to see them do a 180, and showing a sort of exploration of people who go so far to achieve something no matter the cost that they in turn become the very thing they hate.

MY JAW WAS ON THE FLOOR!! The twist after twist after twist was so well executed, I never saw it coming and I will forever bow down to Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen 😱 I will be reading everything they write because they’re one of the few thriller authors that I can never predict what will happen next!

To sum up the novel: I support women’s rights, and more importantly I support women’s wrongs 😅
