Well, that was intresting. It was really fast to read and the plot was exciting! There were some flaws of course
a) Fabrizio got on my nerves towards the end. He is really smart, but he didnt have to react like this. Yeah know his almost girlfriend was there, but you just met her. And you barely know her
b) I wish we could have some more intail in some of the characters past.
c) The ending, even though it was really good, it was fast. I could barely keep up (jk). The point is that when you write a book like that full of ancient myths and stuff like that, you need to let the reader take in the story and think himself what could the solution be.

Other than that, the plot and the backstory on Fersou curse was extremely interesting and i learned a lot. The plot was fascinating and the writing was really good. I would recommend it if you want something fast, pleasing and entairtaining. Oh, but i warn you, there are some pretty descriptive scenes in there so dont read it at night. Unless you want to have nighmares.

Mixed feelings. Read some rave reviews about the author and picked this book. This book is hard to classify - it is a part historical fiction, psychological thriller, and romance. I am having a hard time figuring out what I like about this book. For that matter it is equally is hard to say what I don't like about it.

I can't believe I've never read any of his other books. I'm going to look for more by this author. He manages to mix history/archeology and mystery in an amazing way. Definately worth the read.

While I liked hearing about ancient artifacts, archeology and the ins-and-outs of Italy's system of finding and working with artifacts, I found this book had flat characters and little suspense. The characters had no depth, and I did not care at all about what happened to them, and found myself confused as to why they were developing relationships with each other when no one in the book appeared to possess deep emotions. The characters, even the main one, had little to no development or personality.
Furthermore, while the plot is an interesting premise, it never grabbed my attention. Even with twenty pages left I was able to put the book down and do something else. I had no compulsion to continue to read or understand what was happening, which is about the worst thing that can be said about a book centered around a mystery.
Definite pass.
