Dinged it a star because of the language in it. Loved the plot but the language was so excessive it was hard to get past it.

Had way too much crass sexual language for my taste. Characters annoyed me too.

trigger warnings: sexual content, emotionally abusive relationship, divorce mention, sexual harassment, alcohol, broken engagement mention
I started this book like two years ago and for whatever reason the two chapters I got through back then didn't hook me. When I saw the author was writing a Fleabag hot priest version I had to revisit and I have no regrets. The beginning is certainly a bit of a slog but the rest of the book is exceedingly sweet and aggravating in all the right ways.
I didn't realise this was a genderswap of How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days but frankly this version is leagues better than the movie. The book still carries the movie's original motifs though that "women are undesirable because they're desperate to get married" and deconstructs that through Hannah's character development. She's someone who has put on a Bitch persona after getting burned one too many times by men. But her internal struggle is that she thinks she's unworthy because of all the things she wanted that apparently made her undesirable. The ending is a really nice fuck you to the movie calling women desperate.
Loved it!

At first I thought the book was too similar to how to lose a guy in ten days but it isn't, it is so much better. The fact that they knew each other before the bet adds so many layers to their relationship and I love it.
