This is a review on the duet as a whole.

The first book really lays the foundation or everything that happens in book 2. Book 1 is frustrating, because of miscommunication but it all comes together so beautifully! Who doesn’t love some angst?

This series was angsty, heartbreaking, unique and inspiring.

I made a poor decision of finishing the series during a pedicure and I ended up crying happy tears in front of an audience

Oh, God. It hurts.
Oh, I am sobbing like a fool.
I should have known better than to read books like this one, so
heart wrenching.

I loved the friendship between Connor and Weston, it started so natural and with no expectations. However, I grew to dislike Connor and see him not as a best friend that I would want to have. I liked Autumn but felt she should have been able to figure out what was going on if she really wanted too. She is written as a smart girl yet was duped by something that should have been obvious. The writing was excellent and the characters very well written, cannot wait to what the next book will uncover

I jumped into this book with big expectations because of the amazing reviews. And while I didn’t NOT like it, I definitely didn’t love it. Connor is not a bad guy, but he’s not a good guy either. The fact that he claims Weston’s poem to get her into bed turned me off to him right then. And then he continues to use Weston’s words and we never really hear from him how he actually feels. He likes her, but I never got the impression his feelings ran as deep as Weston’s words.
And then there’s Autumn. {eye roll} I mean really? She can’t pick up the fact that her boyfriend is totally different in person. Maybe it’s just me. I love ppl based on actions, not words. So she just keeps holding on to Connor and asking him for beautiful words that only come when he’s away. Seems to me she was passed the title of helpless romantic and more just pathetic. So it was hard for me to really get in to her. She has huge goals and plans and then ends up doing nothing while she mopes over the fact Connor doesn’t do anything spectacular around her.
And then there’s Weston. Who is deep and smart, loyal and selfless. By far the best character and the one we want to cheer for, and he continues to get stabbed in the heart. Hoping the next book brings smarter, more desirable relationship plots.

One of the best books I've read in a long time! So much angst and love. The poetry is phenomenal. I can't recommend this enough!

If you are reading this review to help you decide if you want to read the book, 2 things: the answer is a resounding YES! And secondly, you are lucky - lucky that book 2 is also available and you can read them back to back.

This eloquent, poetry filled story is perfect. A triangle of a different kind... 2 of the 3 sides aren't even aware there is a triangle in the beginning. And the 3rd? His love for the other 2 is what creates the triangle. A modern day Cyrano de Bergerac.

There is love & heartache, joy & pain. The brotherly bond between friends is as touching and important as the romantic love found in the pages.
