Aliens!!
I'm never sure if I'll like a book about aliens, since the story line can go just about anywhere. But I'm convinced Ms Kyle will always have my best interest in mind when she dreams up her wonderfully crazy stories!!

3.5 stars. I found this better than the first three books I read in the Ujal series. I kinda wished I'd not been stingy and read book four in that as it clearly had more information that joined to this book, but I didn't really mind. Loved the dragons and the Knowing as they're mated before the touching and sex, and it doesn't effect emotion, just knowledge of their pasts. So lovely. That being said, I don't think I'm continuing because of all the many books I have yet to read.

different
Different theme than what I normally read. Interesting setup to a new series. I felt like I should have read the series with the mermaid-like beings first because there was some interesting backstory that would have connected me to the female lead and her peoples. Only had to skip a chapter and a half due to the graphic content. Would recommend

Dragons of Preor
Erin Tate & Celia Kyle
This book series is related to The Ujal series and that reading Dashing Through the Stars would be helpful. Well, you can guess if you have read a few of these. I haven’t read The Ujal series or Dashing Through the Stars no I started with the 2nd book and then went and found as many as I could find on my library application. I am not usually a fan of Sci/fi romance, I can only assume that this came up in my reading list because I do occasionally read paranormal/shifter romance and have a few dragon shifter romance novels in my favorites list. I was surprised that I liked so many of these. The series uses the special mate trope that is common in paranormal/shifter romance novels. How can we not love the thought that there is someone out there destined to be ours forever?
Dashing Through the Stars (novella)
Jerek
Taulan
Kozav
Rendan
Zadri
Hatched
Ivoth (didn’t finish)
Brukr (didn’t read yet)
A Baby for Chashan (didn’t read yet)
Argan (didn’t finish)
Vende (didn’t read yet)
Whelon (didn’t read yet)
If you like this trope I would recommend this surprising series and I will be adding The Ujal series to my TBR for 2021.

This was a great read! I really loved the characters and how it connected to the Ujals. I wasn't expecting that but really, really enjoyed that. This story was a pretty quick read for me. The characters pulled me in from the beginning as well as the premise of the story. Once I started I couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen next. Jarek is coming to help his men find mates but doesn't expect to find one himself. He believes that it is not meant for him, but is here to guide his men and make this a smooth transition so that it will be easier to continue finding mates for their people. As Jarek is entering a meeting to get started on all of this he meets his mate and they begin the Knowing. Both Melissa, his mate, and Jarek are bombarded with knowledge and memories that continue to come at them no matter what is going on around them. They are immediately drawn to each other but since Melissa wasn't volunteering for this or expecting it she has no idea how she feels really. Tensions escalate very quickly and as Jarek ends the meeting to leave with Melissa, Melissa is given a way to transport back to the Ujal station on Earth. Jarek is pissed but soon that doesn't matter as the ship comes under attack from within and Jarek protects the Ujals and others aboard his ship. He is injured badly and the Ujals take him to their station to give him care. He is severely damaged and they don't know if his wings will work again, which is devastating. Melissa and Jarek have to deal with his injuries and feeling like they are worthy of a mating and how they actually feel about each other and if they are willing to fight for it.
I loved how this story progressed and how Jarek and Melissa got to know each other. Melissa doesn't just take crap from Jarek or anyone else. This story will connect with your emotions because it is so easy to connect and get involved with the characters. I loved how this blended with the Ujal world and can't wait to see what is going to happen next. I am looking forward to the next Preor stories.

Nice bounce back.
I've been a fan of Kyle/Tate for a few years and glad she has another series I can enjoy. This was a good start to a new series especially after the miss (for me at least) of Dashing Through the Stars. I'm still waiting for a book from her that warrants 4-5 stars.
