I really enjoyed this. The characters and magic were very cool. However, I had the same issue with this that I did with A Far Wilder Magic. The flow will suddenly be interrupted by oddly placed modernisms (for instance no contractions, semi-formal language and then suddenly a character will say “hey man, what’s up?” And it immediately took me out of the atmosphere of the story). This is a really small criticism for an otherwise good book that I would recommend.

3.5 stars. I loved the whimsical descriptions of the dresses and clothing and the magic people possessed. A fun cozy read.

Yeah this was not written for me. This just felt very half way done, the emotions, the love story, the magic system. I had really high hopes for this & I just felt like it was very much YA, & ofc this not my favorite genre & I normally avoid it but this held so much intrigue. I honestly was thinking it would lean more like Divine Rivals but it really didn’t I felt like I didn’t really know Niamh. & then Kit being a SHORT KING like ok but he’s annoying, so like you’re not hot & youre short & you’re annoying I’m sorry pass. I did the end on audio at 3x lol

I think this is good for people just getting into light fantasy, who wants a romance plot but its YA & like def aimed more towards junior/high schoolers.
