Stopped reading about 1/3 of the way in. Plot was getting ridiculous (cop investigating another cop's murder sleeps with his still-grieving widow on the dead cop's bed) - and the supporting characters were forgettable. This will likely be the last Harry Bosch novel I'll read.

The second Harry Bosch story, and it's another cracker. This time Bosch becomes involved in a complex case related to the drug trade. Once again the locations are really well described, and we learn a little more about Bosch than the first book - whilst a loner, he displays his human side a bot more here, sympathising with one of the characters which is an interesting extension to his character. He does seem rather good at charming women into bed as well it seems. Looking forward to the next instalment.
