I have that empty feeling now after finishing this, which of course indicates that this book is remarkable. You can just feel how much heart and effort was poured into it, and it all comes through in thought provoking ways. The sheer amount of research and dedication alone means I can safely say I'll read anything RF Kuang writes. Love love love the commentary on linguistics, colonialism, and revolution. Can't wait to get my copy in the mail and to reread (and go through the whimsy and pain all over again).
