Loved it! Slow to start but then stayed up to 3am to finish this because I couldn't put it down. I adore Lucien and thought he and Fayre might have become a couple at first. I do have a soft spot for a Beauty and the Beast story and this was great. Can't wait to start reading the next book!

I’ve read this a bunch of times, but people always recommend the GraphicAudio. I’m so glad I listened! This story never gets old and I loved hearing a whole cast play these characters.
This was paced really well too. I noticed a lot of things that I didn’t catch when reading, which was cool too. Listening also made me realize how dark and intense this book was. Hearing it out loud made that really sink in for me and appreciate how much these characters really go through.

I went into this book expecting something totally overhyped and all about sexual tension with zero plot and I was dreading it. I didn't expect to read something so intense and dark! I have trouble wrapping myself in books as I read but with this one, I was immersed every time I picked it up. I won't say the writing is perfect or that it's a book every person needs to read, but if you like tense and vivid books and aren't afraid of the romantic moments, read it. I'm glad I let myself enjoy it.

Look it may not be the most well written and there are some grey lines that are towed in this book, but it definitely is addicting and I definitely will be reading the next books.  If you’re looking for an easy fantasy read that is slightly dark, it does the job.  It’s cliche, but if you’re just here for the vibes, do it.

If this were a fanfiction, I would have spared it.
Instead, it is a dully published book, with the writing of a middle grader, and insufferable main character.
I liked the idea, though.

Finally got to this series after hearing about it for years, and will likely keep going because it was engrossing and I've heard it's the weakest one.  It could have used some more editing (slow in some parts, repetitive adjectives), I got tired of the main character making dumb choices, and while I can handle violence in a book I tired of the **very vague spoiler alert** <evil ruler making a game out of torture trope> that dragged on at the end.

Absolutely loved the story but the writing left something to be desired at times. Quite repetitive.

I loved this book so much more than I expected to. It's definitely not perfect, but the plot was compelling, and I ended up really liking most of the characters. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

At the time I read it, it was great. Now it’s fine, not really my thing.
