DNF at 180 pages.
The main issue with this book for me was that I didn't get attached to or liked any of the characters and it got to the point where I didn't care if one of them died. The plot isn't the best either so I decided to stop reading.
However it had great world building and good descriptions of the flying which was awesome. But that wasn't enough to keep me reading.

I liked the concept for this story but the execution left a little to be desired. The many year gaps between each of the three parts interrupted the flow of the narrative significantly.
They almost read like three short stories, with not enough time to flesh out the story.
The beginning was the best part of the book. The events that Maris creates in this part were interesting and well thought out. The eventual fallout from this and it's consequences for all the connected communities, that are described in the following parts, weren't as well done.

I enjoyed it, but the structure was unusual. By the time I was halfway through it I still felt like I'd only read the introduction, and it never felt like the story hit a climax. It felt more like a memoir, where there's no particular path to the story, but just a series of interesting events. It was enjoyable though, and the characters were well constructed, and her life felt real.
