I'm usually not one to enjoy a slow pace book, but there was something about this one. It was so good and it felt so intentional so I didn't mind thr pacing. Both main characters have so much to deal with (prejudice, history, fears) and are going through so much and to watch them struggle felt really impactful. I'm really excited to see what happens in the next book.

3.5 stars. A lot of repetition. Adored the FMC. Not one redeeming quality in my eyes for the MMC. I agree with Rooke, he should definitely be set on fire. Overall enjoyed the plot. Zero spice only hate.

“Prince Soren Celestial, heir to the throne of the Southern Lands. The name was imprinted on my heart at the tender age of eighteen, soaked with poison and wrapped in terror.”

This book was everything and nothing like I expected, and I absolutely loved it. J Bree is such a talented writer but Oaths & Curses was 100% her most well-written, well-thought out book.

If you’re coming into this thinking the enemies to lovers plot would be over by chapter 3 and there’ll be sunshine and butterflies for the rest of it, then you’d be sorely disappointed (or not

This book took me a lot longer to get through than I expected. It had a ton of world-building and not a lot of action until the last 15% of the book. That last 15% though was fantastic and really what makes me want to keep going with this series. The MMC is going to have to do some world-class groveling for me think Rooke should even kind of attempt to be with him. I would have loved to see more conversations between the characters and less of the staring at one another in silence but

The book was okeish, but I'm a bit disappointed. There were way to many repetitions for my liking, that made the book unnecessary longer. In my opinion it also took way to long before the story really started.

It got better after 50%, when Rooke finally said: F*ck it, I'm going to help.
But than again, it all went back as if nothing really happens, expect for Airlie and maybe Reed and Roan.
It was sooooo frustrating when Soren constantly misinterpreted her actions.

Nonetheless, the last battle was phenomenal

J Bree has done it again. TCOOAC is the new highly anticipated epic fantasy world brought to us by the mastermind J Bree herself.

While this is book one I highly suggest that the two prequel novellas are read before devouring this masterpiece.

Soren is the unseelie fae prince that is also known as the Savage Prince. He takes down his enemy, witches, with no mercy. The war has been raging for along time and he will not rest until he has won. His fated mate is destined to help him achieve this fate.

Rooke has become of one my favorite FMCS that I have read this year. She is a kick butt witch. Gone to the Fate Wars after finding her family that was left behind slaughter when she went to learn her fate. She fled to the Seelie court to help deate another enemy. She now is back and is determined to see her fate out that was given to her by the Seer.

This book is an enemies to lovers, slow burn epic romantasy. While this book has absolutely NO SPICE. This is an amazing first book into J Brees next amazing series.

While I know she will write it and get it out to us and this dosesn’t really end on a big cliff hanger I ind myself Dying to know how the other book swill play out!

One of my top reads of this year!
